The Concept

The Slab is a day-to-night cultural courtyard bringing together street food, music, art, and community in one destination.

Rather than operating as a traditional bar, restaurant, or nightclub, The Slab functions as a social gathering place where guests spend an entire morning, afternoon and evening.

The concept combines:

• high-quality street food
• drinks and social courtyard atmosphere
• creative studios and local artists
• music programming and cultural events

Designed around surf, skate, and street culture, The Slab aims to become a central meeting place for locals, travellers, and the creative community in Uluwatu.

The Venue

The venue is built around a large open courtyard with a central concrete skate pool, creating a natural gathering space that transforms throughout the day.

Guests enter from the street and descend into the courtyard, passing a row of artist studios and retail spaces before reaching the main social area.

Key elements include:

• central skate pool / event bowl
• stage and DJ booth with full courtyard visibility
• multiple bars for efficient service
• street food court supplied by the central kitchen
• two-level gallery with rooftop terrace

The layout is designed for high guest flow and large gatherings, allowing The Slab to host up to 1,200 guests while maintaining a strong atmosphere throughout the space.

The venue operates under a 13-year lease with an option to extend for an additional 20 years.

Street Food

Food is a central part of The Slab experience.

Rather than leasing stalls to external vendors, The Slab operates its own central production kitchen, allowing the venue to maintain quality control while capturing stronger margins.

Food concepts include:

• Crispy pork sandwich
• Loaded hand-cut fries
• Chicken satay with peanut sauce and salad
• Mushroom risotto (vegan)
• Ceviche bowl with taco shells
• Argentinian BBQ

The kitchen will also operate as a delivery kitchen through GoJek and Grab, creating an additional revenue channel beyond the venue itself.

Studios & Gallery

The Slab includes a series of creative studios integrated into the venue and rented to local artists and makers.

Studio concepts include:

• clothing designers
• tattoo artists
• jewellery makers
• barber / hair stylist
• second-hand surf shop
• skate shop

These studios generate rental income while strengthening the venue’s connection to the local creative community.

The venue also includes a two-level gallery space with rooftop terrace, used for art exhibitions, brand activations, private dinners and cultural events.

Food and beverage service for gallery events will be provided by The Slab kitchen.
